How to use

Three steps. Permit-ready output.

  1. 01

    Pick a Zuri collection

Hardwoods (default — Brazilian Walnut, Chestnut, Walnut; the signature tropical-hardwood look), Classics (Pecan + Espresso; mid-neutral or dramatic dark), Weathered (Weathered + Coastal Driftwood; cool modern aesthetic). All three carry the same $7.80/lf premium PVC pricing + 25-yr fade & stain warranty.

  2. 02

    Choose a color

Up to 3 colors per collection. Zuri's signature is Brazilian Walnut (Hardwoods) — the photo-realistic Brazilian Walnut hardwood mimic that started the line. Coolest underfoot: Coastal Driftwood (Weathered, heat rating 3). Warmest: Walnut and Espresso (rating 1, dark colors).

  3. 03

    Enter dimensions + pattern

    Length × width in feet. Pattern: parallel (7% waste, 1.0× labor), picture-frame (12%, 1.18×), diagonal 45° (15%, 1.12×). Calculator quantizes board count using Zuri's stocked 12/16/20 ft.

  4. 04

    Pick a fastener

    EzFasten hidden-clip is the default — 90 clips/box, $92/box, ~50 sqft coverage at 16″ joist on-center. EzFasten plug system (50/pack, $38/pack) is the face-screw alternative with color-matched plug.

  5. 05

    Pick a railing

Zuri Aluminum Rail ($168/lf installed, slim sightline) or Zuri Premium Composite Rail ($105/lf, color-matched to Zuri decking). Value composite kit ($62/lf) is the budget option.

  6. 06

    Add lighting (optional)

Zuri Lighting post-cap + riser LED kit + 100W low-voltage transformer + wiring. Pairs well with Zuri Aluminum Rail for the cleanest sightline.

Material guide

Wood, composite, or PVC?

Three honest paths. Composite wins the 25-year math for most homeowners, wood wins on upfront cost, and PVC is unbeatable around water. Each card below answers in one glance — recalculate the bill of materials by clicking a brand in the picker above.

Pressure-treated wood

Best for · DIY budget builds
Upfront
$1.85 – $4.10/lf
Lifespan
10 – 15 years
Pros
  • Lowest upfront cost ($15–25/sq ft installed)
  • Universally available — Home Depot, Lowe's, lumberyards
  • Workable with standard fasteners and tools
Cons
  • Annual stain/seal needed (~$0.45/sq ft/yr)
  • Splinters, splits, and warps over time
  • Higher 25-year ownership cost than composite
Try in calculator: PT 2×6 or 5/4×6 deck boards

Composite

Best for · Most homeowners
Upfront
$3.20 – $6.40/lf
Lifespan
25 – 30 years (warranty)
Pros
  • Wash-only maintenance ($0.05/sq ft/yr)
  • Capped polymer surface resists stains, mold, fade
  • Lowest 25-year total cost for most builds
Cons
  • Higher upfront ($28–40/sq ft installed)
  • Hidden-fastener systems take 25% longer to install
  • Can run warm in direct sun (lighter colors mitigate)
Try in calculator: Trex Enhance · TimberTech Prime+ · Fiberon Good Life

PVC (capped polymer)

Best for · Pool & coastal decks
Upfront
$4.65 – $7.20/lf
Lifespan
30+ years (lifetime warranty)
Pros
  • Zero rot, zero mold — fully synthetic core
  • Coolest underfoot of the synthetics (mineral-core lines)
  • Best moisture and salt-spray performance
Cons
  • Highest upfront cost
  • Can move slightly more with temperature swings
  • Color palette narrower than composite

How we calculate

The math, fully transparent.

The Zuri Premium PVC Calculator is the brand-deep estimator for Royal Building Products' Zuri line — the photo-realistic PVC decking that gets mistaken for genuine Brazilian Walnut hardwood at 6 ft. Zuri's distinct angle: a multi-layer photo-print cap that captures real wood grain detail (knots, color variation, end-grain) that other PVC brands approximate with simpler texture printing. Premium-tier pricing ($7.80/lf retail) — that's $0.60/lf more than AZEK Vintage ($7.20). The trade-off: most realistic hardwood look available in a PVC, at the cost of a slightly shorter warranty (25-yr fade vs AZEK's 30-yr). Three color collections: Hardwoods (tropical warm — Brazilian Walnut, Chestnut, Walnut), Classics (mid-neutral — Pecan, Espresso), Weathered (cool gray — Weathered, Coastal Driftwood). EzFasten hidden-clip system, optional EzFasten plug system, optional Zuri Lighting, 3-collection auto-comparison. 2026-Q1 retail.

IRC references

  • IRC 2021 R507 — Decks
  • IRC 2021 R312 — Guards (railing required when deck > 30″)
  • Zuri EzFasten install manual — clip spacing (1 per board per joist)
  • Zuri Premium PVC warranty terms — 25-yr fade & stain

Per-LF retail prices reflect 2026-Q1 Zuri Premium PVC pricing at Royal Building Products authorized dealer channel. EzFasten specs from Zuri install manuals. 25-yr fade & stain + 25-yr structural warranty per Zuri Premium PVC published terms. Photo-realistic cap technology is multi-layer print + UV-stable clear coat bonded during PVC extrusion.

Deck-board linear feet
rows × length × (1 + waste%)

Rows = ceil(width × 12 ÷ (5.5 + 0.125)). Waste % is pattern-driven.

EzFasten box count
boxes = floor(total_clips ÷ 90)

Each EzFasten box ships 90 clips and covers ~50 sqft at 16″ joist on-center. Loose remainder priced at $1.30 each.

Zuri vs AZEK Vintage price delta
premium = (zuri_lf − azek_vintage_lf) × total_lf

Zuri Premium at $7.80/lf vs AZEK Vintage at $7.20/lf — $0.60/lf premium. On a 400 lf project that's $240 more. The premium buys the most realistic hardwood photo-print PVC cap available; trade-off is AZEK's 5-yr-longer fade warranty (30 vs 25).

PVC labor premium
$35/sqft × 1.25 × pattern × shape × region

Premium PVC installs are 25% slower than face-screwed PT (clip-system sequencing + thermal-gap discipline). Pattern + shape compound.

Photo-realistic cap durability
fade_resistance = full_cap (no exposed core)

Zuri's photo-print cap is a multi-layer construction — printed-grain layer + protective UV-stable clear coat. Both layers are bonded into the PVC core during extrusion (not painted on), so they don't fade or peel even after 25+ years.
