Is the DeckMath embed really free?
Yes — fully free, no signup, no usage fees, no premium tier. Up to 1,000 calculations per domain per hour. Beyond that, the calculator still loads but rate-limits gracefully.
Will the embed slow down my site?
No. The widget script is ~3 KB gzipped and loads asynchronously. The iframe is lazy-loaded so it only fetches when the user scrolls to it.
Does the embed work in WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix?
Yes — any site that lets you paste raw HTML works. WordPress: Custom HTML block. Webflow: Embed element. Squarespace: Code block. Wix: Embed HTML widget. Ghost: HTML card. No plugin install required.
What's the difference between Full, Compact, and Mini variants?
Full shows the entire calculator UI — ideal for dedicated landing pages and blog posts. Compact strips secondary inputs and tabs — fits a 360–480 px sidebar. Mini surfaces just 1–3 essential inputs and a single result line — a glanceable widget for quick decisions.
Can I match my brand color exactly?
Yes. Pick a preset swatch, or type any 6-character hex value (without the #) in the accent color field. Leave it empty to let the embed inherit the calculator's category color (green for material, blue for cost, red for structural, etc.).
Will the embed auto-resize as the user changes inputs?
Yes. The widget script listens for height messages from the iframe and resizes automatically — no scrollbars inside the embed. Choose 100% responsive width to fill the parent container, or fixed pixels for a strict layout.
Does the embed give me a backlink?
Yes. The snippet includes a real <a> tag pointing to the corresponding DeckMath calculator page with descriptive anchor text. Google and AI engines count it as a do-follow citation. The 'Powered by DeckMath' footer is a second branded link.
Are the calculations accurate?
Every structural calculator validates against International Residential Code (IRC) 2021. Joist span (R507.6), beam span (R507.5), footings (R507.3 + R403.1.4), guards (R312), stairways (R311.7). Outputs include the specific code section.
Can I remove the DeckMath branding?
No — the small DeckMath logo and 'Powered by DeckMath' link are mandatory. This keeps the product free forever and provides attribution. Backlink-shy? See the FAQ above — your site gets a do-follow link in return.
Will the embed break my Content Security Policy?
The iframe loads from deckmath.com. If your CSP restricts frame-src, add deckmath.com to your allow-list. The companion script loads from embed.deckmath.com — also add it to script-src if needed.
